The Hague Academy for Local Governance is organising a course on fiscal decentralisation and local finance. The course will be taught in English and held between 28 September and 9 October 2015 in The Hague, the Netherlands. The course contents will focus on identifying the role of the various spheres of government in fiscal matters, on establishing proposals for increasing the income of local governments and on implementing measures to improve transparency.
Specialising in local issues, The Hague Academy for Local Governance was established in 2006 by VNG International (the International Cooperation Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities). It is a non-governmental organisation whose main goal is to strengthen local governance and economic development and to encourage institutional strengthening at a local level, particularly in developing and post-conflict transition countries.
