The biennial Commonwealth Local Government Conference 2015 will take place from 16 to 19 June in Gaborone (Botswana). This will be the first held in an African country. The main theme of this meeting is the state of local governments in 2030.
The conference is expected to bring together high-level politicians, political leaders and professionals, including members of local governments, mayors and city and municipal leaders, along with other local government actors from Africa, Europe, the Pacific and the Caribbean. Attendees will meet to exchanges experiences and learn new ideas, focuses and practices that enable local governments to offer better services. The Commonwealth heads of government will publish the results of the conference during a meeting to be held in Malta at the end of the year.
