7th Latin American Congress of Cities and Local Governments ‘EXPERIENCIAMERICA’

Wednesday, 05/11/2014 to Friday, 07/11/2014

The 7th Latin American Congress of Cities and Local Governments ‘EXPERIENCIAMERICA’ will be held in Santa Marta, Colombia, from 5 to 7 November. The open forum will discuss different approaches to the major issues facing local governments in Latin America and the Caribbean now and in the future.

The main aims of the Conference, which is open to all mayors and local authorities in the Americas, are: to strengthen the role of the Latin American Federation of Cities, Municipalities and Local Government Associations (FLACMA); to establish the position of the host country's Association of Local Governments as a representative body for the national community; to raise the profile of the host city as a tourist destination, investment target and conference centre; and encourage public authorities to work with private providers of goods and services.

This Hemispherical Summit of Mayors is being jointly organised by the Mayor of Santa Marta, United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), the Latin American Federation of Cities, Municipalities and Local Government Associations (FLACMA) and the Federation of Colombian Municipalities.
